CO2 Emissions Targets

The Government’s targets for reducing the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions continue to look somewhat optimistic, with the initial target of a reduction of 20% by 2010 now accepted as being a step too far to achieve. Experts differ in the likely levels to be achieved but around 14% seems to be the most likely.

With the home being responsible for over 21% of all CO2 produced in the UK and the heating and hot water system responsible for 80% of that, it’s hardly surprising that the Government saw this as a prime target for CO2 reductions. A range of initiatives have been introduced to address the targets and High Efficiency Products are key to the success of the activities under way.
